3G Sunsetting Global impact

Updated by Elizabeth Smith

This article details information about 3G global cellular networks.

4G Technology

METER recently released a new modem option called the Cat-1 modem that will cover 2G/3G/4G networks on select carriers. This technology will help cover communication options as Telecoms turn off or decommission the 2G and 3G networks.

If you are currently in possession of an EM50G or EM50G Solar these loggers will not be upgradeable. They will continue to log your field data, but be unable to transmit it to ZENTRA Cloud once the 3G network is unavailable.

If you are currently in possession of an EM60G or ZL6 with 3G, these loggers are upgradeable to our 4G modem. For more information please contact our sales office.
