Groundwater Depth [2.0]
IN THIS ARTICLE
Calculate the true water level with a reference offset. Typically used for depth-to-groundwater calculations by Civil and Geotechnical experts. Groundwater is a basic offset for water level data. This simple measurement calculates the depth to groundwater by subtracting the “sensor measured depth” from the “installation depth.”
Groundwater Depth = Install Depth - Head
- Install Depth is the sensor installation depth from a point of reference, typically a wellhead.
- Head is the sensor measured water level
Support
Groundwater can be calculated from any water level measurement.
Recommended sensors
- HYDROS 21
- CTD
- CTD-5
- CTD-10
New Groundwater
- On the Data page, select New Data.
- Select Groundwater as the type.
- Select one or more water level sources.
- The type will default to GWD which stands for Groundwater depth.
- Edit the data stream color.
- Edit the data stream name.
- The sensor Position is the default value for the install depth/offset.
- Edit the Height/Depth, or enter a value if none is present.
- Select Create to finish.
- The new data stream(s) will now be in your data list.
