Please make sure your EM60G or ZL6 has the latest firmware, 2.02 or greater and has at least 40% battery.
Please follow these instructions for installing the METER-supplied H-1 SIM in the ZL6 or EM60G data logger.
Unscrew the PCB of the EM60G/ZL6. Carefully tilt the PCB up and forward to expose the back of the PCB while also leaving the antenna cable connected to the cellular module. There is no need to unscrew the antenna connector from the case or disconnect the antenna cable from the cellular module.
Slide the top of the SIM holder back towards the cellular module to unlock the SIM. Open the SIM holder and remove the original SIM. Note the orientation of the SIM to the holder.
Insert the new H-1 SIM in the SIM holder with the correct orientation. Close the holder and slide the top of the holder away from the cellular module to lock the SIM in place. Put the PCB back in the logger case.
Press the “TEST” button on the logger.
In ZENTRA Utility, Connect to your logger.
Once connected, choose "Show Terminal" from the Window menu. This opens a dialog box showing the serial commands sent between the Em60G/ZL6 and ZENTRA Utility.
Type the following command in the command box: set apn h.meter.apn
Type (or copy-n-paste) the command just as it is written above. Press Enter. You should see this command and the response from the logger show up in the window above the command box. Make sure the logger sent "OK". If you see “ERROR”, make sure you’ve typed the command correctly.
Verify the Logger has taken the command by typing get apn the response should be h.meter.apn
Type the following command in the command box: set -profile 202
Verify the Logger has taken the command by typing get profile the response should be 202.
Optional: You may use ZENTRA Utility 1.14 or greater to perform a Cellular Connection Test to verify connectivity.
Return the original SIM to METER.
If you haven't already, please reattach the PCB into the case.
