SIM Replacement Instructions

Replace the SIM card in your device.

Replace the SIM

ZL6 / EM60G / EM50G

Steps:

  1. Power off
    1. Remove the batteries from the data logger to power it down.
  2. Unscrew the board
    1. Remove the four screws from the main board and flip it over.
  3. Remove the SIM
    1. Slide the cover to the left to open the SIM tray.
    2. Pull the SIM out of the tray.
  4. Install the new SIM
    1. Close the SIM tray and slide the SIM cover to the right to secure it closed. It should click into place.
    2. Insert the new SIM into the tray with the gold or silver panel facing up. Make sure the SIM is touching the edge of the tray.
  5. Secure the board
    1. Turn the main board back over.
    2. Replace the screws,
  6. Power on
    1. Replace the batteries to power the data logger back on.

ATMOS 41W

Steps:

  1. Remove the funnel
    1. Push down and rotate the funnel counter-clockwise.
  2. Power off
    1. Unscrew the battery cap and remove the battery pack.
    2. Gently unplug the battery pack wire.
  3. Remove assembly
    1. Unscrew the rain gauge assembly
    2. Turn the assembly on it's side
  4. Remove the SIM
    1. Push in on the SIM to release it.
  5. Install new SIM
    1. Push the new SIM card into the slot to install it.


Update the device configuration

ZL6 / EM60G

Use the SIM Swap Wizard in ZENTRA Utility Mobile to update the settings in your device. The tool will check the hardware configuration, configure the cellular settings, and verify the connection to ZENTRA Cloud.

If you do not have access to ZENTRA Utility Mobile, you can manually configure the hardware using the terminal window in ZENTRA Utility on your desktop. Follow this guide here to find the correct commands to send.

EM50G

Follow these instructions for updating the configuration of the METER-supplied H-1 SIM in the Em50G data logger. Each SIM card ID is associated with a single EM50G serial number. Always install the SIM with its associated data logger or your service may be unexpectedly interrupted.

Requirements:

  • Firmware version 2.29 or later.
  1. Connect
    1. Connect via a cabled connection (Desktop).
  2. Terminal
    1. Click Window, and select Show Terminal.
  3. Set the Access Point Name or APN
    1. Type set -apn h.meter.apn and click Send.
    2. The response in the terminal should be "OK".
    3. Type get -apn to verify the setting has been updated.
    4. The response in the terminal should be "h.meter.apn".
  4. Test
    1. Disconnect the logger from ECH2O Utility and then re-connect.
    2. Run a communication test to verify connectivity with the network.
    3. Click Test, or click Actions in the Menu bar, then Communication test.
