Antenna Extension Adapter

How to install an antenna extension for the ZL6 data logger.

The antenna on the ZL6 data logger is located inside the enclosure on the left side. If signal strength is an issue, an extension cable, adapter, and external antenna can be ordered and installed to bring the antenna outside of the enclosure and raise its height.

To install an antenna extension:
  1. Remove the circuit board screws
    1. Unscrew the four screws securing the circuit board to the enclosure.
  2. Detach the existing antenna cable
    1. Carefully flip the circuit board over.
    2. Disconnect the antenna cable from the module.
  3. Install the antenna extension adapter
    1. Attach the extension adapter where the original antenna cable was connected.
    2. Flip the circuit board back into position.
    3. Route the extension cable out through Port 2 or Port 3.
  4. Reattach the circuit board
    1. Replace and tighten the four screws you removed earlier.
  5. Connect and secure the external antenna
    1. Thread the external antenna onto the end of the extension cable.
    2. Mount the external antenna securely to your pole or chosen support.
