ZSC Bluetooth Sensor Interface
The ZSC pairs wirelessly with iOS and Android mobile devices through the ZENTRA Utility Mobile app.
The ZSC is a hardware accessory to support the ZENTRA system of sensors. The ZSC pairs wirelessly with iOS and Android mobile devices through the ZENTRA Utility Mobile app to display sensor measurement data. The ZSC works with most analog, pulse, and digital sensors supported by the ZENTRA system. Changing the sensor SDI-12 address for use on third-party loggers is also supported.
Changing Digital Sensor SDI-12 Address
METER digital sensors have the default SDI-12 address of 0. If the sensors are being used with a non-METER logger using SDI-12 protocol on a bus, use the ZSC and the ZENTRA Utility Mobile app to change the sensor SDI-12 address. See the individual sensor integrator guide for more information about the SDI-12 protocol in the sensors.
Steps
- Open the ZENTRA Utility Mobile app.
- Connect the sensor to the ZSC.
- Under Sensor Information, select the SDI Address dropdown.
- Scroll through the options and select the desired SDI-12 address.
Sensor-Specific Functionality
The ZSC can also perform some sensor-specific functionalities. Consult the specific sensor manual for details on how to use these functionalities.
- ATMOS 41 pyranometer calibration coefficient changes after funnel component replacement (Rain Funnel and Pyranometer Replacement Instructions).
- ATMOS 22/41 Wind Speed Zero (ATMOS 41W/ATMOS 41 Gen 2 Wind Speed Collar Instructions).
Sensor Current Drain
As a diagnostic tool, measuring current consumption can identify latent problems in sensors and help maintain your network. The ZSC provides active and sleep states for testing sensors. Sensors with current draw above the maximum or an order of magnitude greater than the typical current have internal electronic problems and should be removed from the network and replaced. See the ZSC - Sensor Current Drain Check guide.
