Subscription Usage
ZENTRA Cloud 2.0 introduces a simplified and more predictable subscription model designed to make billing easier to manage for individual organizations.
Subscription management is coming to ZENTRA Cloud 2.0 in April, 2026!
Subscripiton Overview
How Subscription Cycles Are Changing in ZENTRA Cloud 2.0
ZENTRA Cloud 2.0 introduces a simplified and more predictable subscription model designed to make billing easier to manage for individual organizations. As part of the transition from ZENTRA Cloud 1.0, and for consistency, all legacy subscription cycles dates will be migrated to 2.0.
Legacy Subscription Behavior (ZENTRA Cloud 1.0)
In the previous platform each device carried its own individual 12‑month subscription cycle, with a unique start and end date based on when that specific device was activated. This meant organizations often had dozens or hundreds of devices renewing on different dates throughout the year, making billing and renewal planning more complex.
New Subscription Model (ZENTRA Cloud 2.0)
After a device’s existing legacy subscription ends, it will transition into a new subscription structure that uses a single, unified 12‑month billing cycle for the entire organization. All subscribed devices—new or renewing—share the same organization‑wide start and end date, simplifying budgeting, forecasting, and account management.
Prorated Subscriptions for Mid-Cycle Additions
Devices added or subscribed mid‑cycle will be prorated so that they align with the organization’s billing cycle. Regardless of when a device is added, it will renew on the same date as all other subscribed devices.
Auto-Renew or End-of-Cycle options
Organizations can choose how each device behaves at the end of the subscription cycle, giving the user full control over ongoing subscription commitments.
- Auto‑Renew – the device automatically renews for the next 12‑month cycle.
- End at Cycle Close – the device subscription ends on the organization’s renewal date.
Purchasing Usage in the New System
Instead of purchasing a 12-month subscription for each individual device, users purchase 12‑month blocks of usage represented as dollars that are added to their organization’s usage pool.
When a device is subscribed:
- The device draws from the available usage pool, or
- If the pool does not have enough usage remaining, the system will charge the credit card on file to cover the required subscription.
- If there is insufficient usage and there is no card on file, the transaction will be denied.
This model allows organizations to:
- Pre‑purchase usage in bulk
- Allocate subscription capacity across devices easily
- Support large deployments without managing individual device billing
Summary
In summary, the new subscription cycle model in ZENTRA Cloud 2.0 improves clarity, reduces administrative overhead, and gives organizations more flexibility. Key benefits include:
- One unified 12‑month billing cycle for all devices
- Prorated mid‑cycle activations
- Optional auto‑renew settings per device
- Bulk purchasing through a shared usage pool
- Automatic fallback billing when usage runs out
ZENTRA Cloud 2.0 makes subscription management simpler, more predictable, and better suited for modern, scalable environmental monitoring deployments.
